Bat-rolling — Cheating?
Earlier this week a newspaper published a letter about cheating in softball. In that letter, the author mentions different ways to cheat the game, many of them I never even imagined would happen in non-professional leagues.
One of the techniques that is classified as cheating is to have your bat rolled. Based on the limited amount of knowledge I have about this, I thought it was OK, it was just making sure your composite bat was performing at its top sooner, but I did not see it as cheating.

IMO rolling a composite bat is not cheating. You have not added to or taken away from the bat. You have accelerated the break-in process. Shaving would be cheating.

When the bats breakdown and exceed the 98 mph spec the strips on the side will come off.
i dont see if as cheating its just gettig the work you would do swingin done quicker
I don’t get it.. So if the new bats that you can see through break in they exceed 98mph right? after the break in period is over the bat can’t be used anymore?
I don’t think it is a question of not being able to use it anymore… I think it is more a concern of how effective they are. Do you have any personal opinion about this? How’s the effectiveness been after the first season of use?
I personally dont see it as cheating as many others have said, you are not altering the bat in a way it was not meant to be played with. You are breaking it in faster. I used the website prorollers.webs.com and have had no issues with any of my bats i sent them.

ProRollers.net seems to have the fastest turn around times in the market and do the best bat rolling of anyone i have used in the past. I had sent them another Recoil Max and had it back in my hands in 4 days from the time it left my hands. They say they use the best bat roller available in the PRN-500, but i dont know about that, all i know is my newly rolled bats are crazy hot right now and i will continue to recommend them to anyone who needs a bat rolled, i wish they shaved bats but hey cant have it all i guess
